While waiting for direction from above, there are important things you can do as a communications department. Adapt your way of communicating to the hybrid setting by sending less and seeking more interaction. Include others: leaders with inclusive dialogues, managers with team alignment, colleagues with communities of practice and interest . Have a good content architecture and digital channel strategy so everyone knows what to find where – and you where to reach your target audiences. An internal social channel that people make active use of is indispensable. But perhaps the most important piece of advice I have for you: experiment, help others experiment, and learn from each other.
Try new ways of working, such as Working Out Loud, perhaps first within your own communications department. Collect experiences and start a conversation about it with your colleagues. Whatever you do, don't sit around and wait!
